Writing Studio

Located next door to the library in the Pathways building, the Writing Studio can assist you with any writing assignment for any class. In addition, they can assist with resumes, scholarship applications, and other writing projects.  Writing coaches and instructors of writing are there to support your entire writing process from drafting to finalizing your work. They can provide you with guidance, but will not correct or edit your work. Or if you just have a quick question, or want someone to give you feedback, they can do that too. Assistance is available in the following three formats: on a drop-in basis, by appointment, or online.

To submit your writing online, please follow the three easy steps below and email us at: taoswritingstudio@unm.edu.

  1. Please include the specifics of the assignment you are working on, including due date, course, and professor.
  2. In the body of your email pose up to 3 to 4 questions that you would like for our writing tutor to address.
  3. Attach your paper, double spaced, as a Word document. If your paper is longer than 8 pages, double spaced, please let us know so that we can make special arrangements.
  4. Expect feedback within 24 hours, excluding weekends. For example, if you submit your work on a Friday you may get a response as late as Monday afternoon the following week. Please plan accordingly to your due date.

If you would like to work on your writing in real time but can’t make it to campus, then you can schedule an online appointment, or a tutor can ZOOM with you. Email to book an online, or ZOOM, appointment at taoswritingstudio@unm.edu.  The writing studio is physically located within CASA, in the Pathways building on Klauer Campus. Call 575-737-3695 or taoswritingstudio@unm.edu.
